This code shows how to accept user input when he enters a password in a console application. Also, it tells how to secure/encrypt the password intrinsically so that it is not simply available as just another string value.

Console.Write("Enter your password:");
System.Security.SecureString ss = new System.Security.SecureString();
ConsoleKeyInfo ki = Console.ReadKey(true);
while (ki.KeyChar != '\r')
{
Console.Write("*");
ss.AppendChar(ki.KeyChar);
ki = Console.ReadKey(true);
}
