How to verify your sql server account using command prompt
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:


osql -U sa



or



osql -U sa -S servername\instancename




You are now at the following prompt:
Password:
Enter your password

If you are now at the following prompt

1>


your user account is valid
otherwise you will receive the following error message, "you have entered an incorrect password."
