This code shows how to sortdata in a gridview using dataview


Dim dtable As Data.DataTable = StoredProcedure.Tables(0)
Dim dview As New Data.DataView(dtable)
If ViewState("SortOrder").ToString() = " ASC" Then
dview.Sort = e.SortExpression.ToString & " ASC"
ViewState("SortOrder") = " DESC"
ElseIf ViewState("SortOrder").ToString() = " DESC" Then
dview.Sort = e.SortExpression.ToString & " DESC"
ViewState("SortOrder") = " ASC"
End If
GridView1.DataSource = dview
Gridview1.DataBind()
