How to verify the data in this table or not in vb.net

I have 1 table.in this table i have data.The table is
columns:-domainname domainid
data:- mortan 1
In vb.net i developed the user information.the user domain name is existed in the above table or not.how to verify in vb.net.

hi,
read the count like


Select count(*) from tabname where col1='mohan1'

like this if it is grater than 0 means the data is present..
