Few moments with Deepika Haridas - DotNetSpider MVM

Posted Date: 24 May 2009      Posted By: Raghav      Member Level: Gold     Points: 1   Responses: 21

Hello DNS'ians,

Deepika Haridas is a Diamond member who joined DNS on 6th Febraury, 2008. She is working as Software Engineer in a company at Ahmedabad. She is working in the area of ASP.NET with SQL Server for the last one year. A graduate (B.Tech) in IT, Deepika has contributed a good number of articles in DotNetSpider and has won many prizes and awards from DNS including Best Forum Supporter award, Member of the year etc.

She was awarded with DotNetSpider MVM award recently in April, 2009. We had an interview with her to get her views on DotNetSpider and her message to DotNetSpider members. Here is the interview we had with her.

Please tell us about yourself?

Myself Deepika Haridas. Completed my B.Tech in Information Technology from Ganpat University in May, 2008. Currently working as a SOFTWARE ENGINEER in a private firm in Ahmedabad from last 1 Year. Specialized in ASP.Net (Web & Windows based applications), C#, MySQL, SQL Server 2005, Oracle 9i, JavaScript etc. Still on the Way to learn more. Eager to learn new stuffs, do new things.

I strongly believe that “Excellence is always the result of HIGH INTENTION, DETERMINED EFFORT and SKILLED EXECUTION”.

How did you get into DotNetSpider community?

I started my journey in DotNetSpider when I was doing my last Semester Project Training and was just searching in google related to my doubts. Of course, I didn’t know anything at that time that I was going to be a part of DotNetSpider Team. Got few answers related to my doubts from DNS members (Thankful to them) but then didn’t login daily as such. After joining the company I felt I should help others and started answering the questions in Forums. Slowly it continued. And now almost a year in DNS.

What motivated you to contribute in DotNetSpider?

I always like to share my knowledge and help others. Also learned a Lot from DotNetSpider.

“In LIFE you’ll undergo painful sharpening just like a pencil which makes you better”

So allow yourself to be held and guided by the hand that holds you.
And you’ll find “ME” as that guided hand over here.

It feels GREAT when someone says “Your help helped me a lot in getting things done”.

How much time do you spend on Technical communities to help
others?

There’s no specific duration of time which I spend.. It depends whenever I am free; I spend my time on Technical communities. On an average I spend 4-5 hours daily.

How are you balancing your Work life with your contribution in Technical Communities?

I never found it tough to balance my Work life with the contributions I make in Technical Communities. Even during heavy workloads, I at-least find half an hour to contribute in the technical forums.

Please share with us your journey of becoming an DNS-MVM?

My journey was really awesome. I remember the day when I received my first Weekly Winner certificate, I didn’t expect it though. My joys had no limits. I shared it with everyone around me. Each time I got encouragement to contribute even more. Then it went on with Monthly Winner, more Weekly Winner, Best Forum Supporter which was really surprising, and recently MVM award .Was very much HAPPY and HONORED to receive DNS-MVM award. Also I would like to thank Editors, Raghav and Tony for supporting me throughout.

Few words about DotNetSpider?

Good Site for learners. Lots of new stuff to learn and explore.

What are your career goals?

To be the most successful person in LIFE in whatever task I take off. Lots of things yet to achieve. MVP, Lead Architect, Start off with my own organization etc… lots J.

Best moment in DotNetSpider tenure?

Each and Every Appreciation received from DotNetSpider was Best moment for me..

Any message to technologists and suggestions to make DotNetSpider as World's number one Technical Site?

Message to Technologists: Whatever task you take off give it your 100% as HARDWORK always pays-off.

Each day learn something new be it a small thing but at the end of the day you’ll feel great that you now know something which was unknown for you yesterday.

One more thing I would like to share is today google, even DNS provides code for each and everything which is good but to improve yourself consider them as your reference book, just don’t copy/paste the code and use, instead understand each and every line used. Of course, DNS members are always there to help you out.

I have made few suggestions in the POLLs section already. Would be glad if they are considered or even thought off.

Hope this interview will be useful to all members.

Thank you

Raghav
Web Master
