Few moments with Gaurav Arora - DotNetSpider MVM

Posted Date: 24 May 2009      Posted By: Raghav      Member Level: Gold     Points: 1   Responses: 16

Hello DNS'ians,

Gaurav Arora is the senior Diamond member who joined DNS on 19th July, 2008. He is currently working as Sr. Software Engineer with Pyramid IT Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Noida since the past 2 years and owned his Small Software Company having offices in Delhi, Gurgaon, Canada and USA. He is very good human-being always down to earth, it is not wrong if I call him Walkman of knowledge. Recently, he is pursuing his Doctorate in Computer Science. He was awarded with DotNetSpider MVM award recently in April, 2009.

We had an interview with him to get his views on DotNetSpider and his message to DotNetSpider members. Here is the interview we had with him.

Please tell us about yourself?

In short this is Gaurav Arora, I have couple of Technical Qualifications in my hands including M.Phill(Comp. Sc.), Masters in Computer Application and continuation to that I am pursuing Doctorate in Philosophy (Comp. Sc.) started my carrier with Oriental Structure Engineers Ltd. in October’1999 as Trainee, C/C++, ASP, VBScript and SQL Server. As time passed away and when I have mastered on these technologies I moved to .Net and worked on C#, ASP.NET with SQL Server. As I always think that every Techie is a learner throughout his or her life so, I started to learn new Languages like Asp.net MVC, Silverlight and some server component like SharePoint. I got many certificates in Microsoft Technologies. I started my blog to share knowledge and free training on Microsoft Technologies i.e. http://stuff4mdesktop.blogspot.com as Journey is very long I have planned to fulfill my dreams and started a .Net Community http://msdotnetheaven.com with the help of my wife. Meanwhile I came to contact with Raghav and Tony then they rewarded me some great responsibilities as Sr. Editor of DNS and Webmaster for their MicroSoft Silverlight Games site http://silverlightclub.com . Here my story will remain uncompleted if I do not pay my hearties thanks to Tony, Raghav, Meetu and my wife Shuby. The journey is still continue….

How did you get into DotNetSpider community?

I always try to find solutions of problems myself. In this respect I work search with many search engines throughout the web. Whenever I tried to search on web for my queries every-time I found DNS in my search-results. I got many solutions there. Finally, I have decided to be the part of this great Forum .Net community.

What motivated you to contribute in DotNetSpider?

My aim is to learn and share, I want to set-up free learning network through-out the world all these pushed me to share knowledge any type including Techie stuffs with others to whom I met or not. Then decided to starte contributing to this community.

How much time do you spend on Technical communities to help
others?

It’s very hard to trace by myself too, because there are very hectic hours of my service, I start my day from 10.00 a.m. and back to home at 1.15 a.m. between all these I always tried to spend time towards my this stuff. If I am not wrong I spend around 5 to 6 hours daily including week-ends. Apart from this, I regularly am running contributions to my blog and other community to expand free Microsoft Technical education.

How are you balancing your Work life with your contribution in Technical Communities?

As I have told earlier for me every professional is a learner throughout his / her life. So, I don’t find such difference to be balanced. I mind it as my daily work as Washing hands and other routine works.

Please share with us your journey of becoming an DNS-MVM?

Yeah! It’s all the result of my hard work and support of some very special persons in my life. I never forgot the great day of [19th July’ 2008] when I have connected with DNS. Initially when I have joined the DNS, I never aimed any prize. Then I came to contact with Raghav and I got my First Editor’s Choice prize and then the journey started never stop and today I am the DNS-MVM.

Few words about DotNetSpider?

A place where one can get/share answers; definitely it’s a great forum.

What are your career goals?

I want to establish a free Training Portal to expand the Techie knowledge throughout the world. My carrier dream is to work with Microsoft.

Best moment in DotNetSpider tenure?

Although getting prizes are the unforgettable moments for me but the best moment for me in DNS is when I met with Raghav & Tony. When Tony gave me challenging assignment of Silverlight Games as a webmaster.

Any message to technologists and suggestions to make DotNetSpider as World's number one Technical Site?

There is no doubt that DNS is the most searchable .Net Community. My message to Technologists is try to do from your knowledge bank in your own words. Whenever you do something try to produce with your 100% efforts. Try to put you different from others with your own special ways don’t try to follow others trends.

Nothing is complete because “To err is human”. But try to represent your complete strength with your inner answers.

I also would like to say a few words about the role of my organisation behind this achievement.

Without the help of organization its very tough to spend lot time for this activity. I must pay my thanks to Sr. President, Mr. B. Sawhney of O.S.E who motivated me to do something different.

Mr. Ramesh Muthru, C.E.O. of Pyramid who encourage my strength on my first achievement of Editor’s Choice award from DNS.

Mr. Pankaj Nautiyal, Project Manager, Pyramid whose managerial skills attracted me to achieve something extra-ordinary.

Also, I never forgot some of my colleagues/friends [Ritesh, Amit, Tejinder, Ali & Ram] of my Organization who supports me time-time.

Thanks Pyramid to provide me room to achieve something extra.

So, try to give your best and best will come back to you.

Hope this interview will be useful to all members.

Thank you

Raghav
Web Master
